Noisy Neighbors

I was in the middle of a phone conversation in my driveway when there was a crazy loud ruckus behind me. I turned around as the guy on the other end of the conversation said, “Sounds like there is a dogfight going on over there”.

I said, “No, it is just two ravens arguing over a scrap of meat”.

I walked over to them and they moved the ruckus across the street. In a few minutes they were back. This time they seemed to be just having a loud conversation. So, I walked slowly over to them while talking to them about their apparent stress levels. They let me get within ten feet of them and we had a lengthy discussion.

After a few minutes of this I asked them for permission to take another closer picture. I think they said that would be fine, but I’m not sure as my raven speak has never been all that good.

I believe they were just tired of social distancing. After a long chat they took their discussion to the neighbors roof. As you can see, I am easily amused and really need to get out more.

Ours is a nice dull neighborhood.

Say cool and safe.

About

So far I've reached acceptable proficiency at the following, in chronological order: Silversmith, infantryman/door gunner, helicopter pilot, fireman, carpenter, residential contractor, FAA Air Traffic Control Specialist and crotchety old retired guy. Currently, I'm learning to fly again and that is what this is all about. 7/7/2020 edit: As I have had the opportunity to reflect (old people do that a lot) on my actual proficiency level at the above occupations, I feel adjustments are in order. The term "acceptable" depends on the observer, their own proficiency and experience level. Acceptable to me might be woefully deficient to the master. I think it would be more accurate to claim that I have earned a living wage at all of these occupations but never got rich. Actually, I feel that I have gotten rich at the last one. I have what I need and am profoundly grateful for all of it. The future looks bright indeed, as I have learned to fly again. For that I have all of you to thank. Thank You!

  1. Troy, what is it you are flying these days? I’ll email you about a flight I was suppose to make but that got cancelled at the last minute.
