Sunrise and Editorial Note
We were treated to yet another beautiful sunrise yesterday. They are particularly enjoyable in that they last longer than those we see during the days around the equinox. During those days the angle of the path of the sun relative to the horizon is at its maximum, therefor, it passes through the color producing area just below the horizon quicker. I’ll bet sunrise/sunsets last for days near the arctic circle midway between the solstices and equinoxes.
Yes, I am totally pulling this out of my ass; no I am not stoned. Just high on astronomy.
This particular sunrise was surreal, I was so engrossed that I failed to take any pictures. Melody was in the home she and Scott have rented for the winter and she has a much better view than I. So I asked her to send me one of the photos she took.
Not bad, huh? When I saw this from my place, I thought, “This looks like every alien invasion movie I’ve ever seen”. The darkly silhouetted lower and closer scattered clouds would be the alien fleet suddenly appearing at dawn. We would defeat them of course. Just because they possess the technology to travel light years in massive battle cruisers doesn’t guarantee success when they come up against the humans. After all, we will have God on our side.
Seriously, I am not stoned. This is just pandemic ramblings, but fun.
Stay safe.
PS; Editorial note; I misspoke on my last post. The block and tackle used in the construction of my lamp was donated by my neighbor, Jim. My apologies, I will change my will to insure they are returned after my demise.
