Quick Start
I had not expected to fish quite this soon but Bill has this friend Bob that does winter King fishing. We got the call the night before that the Kings were hanging out in Katchemak Bay. The weather really was amazing.
Just another hard day of providing.
We spent the better part of a day on the water but caught 7 of our total of 8 in a 45 minute frenzy. I was too busy hooking, netting, bonking, bleeding and baiting to remember photos.
We ended up with with two nice white Kings in the mix. They look the same as the rest but have white flesh. Of course, these are good luck but they also taste the best.
We cooked all the backbones last night. People always throw away the best part of the fish.
Recipe: Fillet fish; cook backbones over a open fire. Flake off the meat and eat or throw in a salad.
Perfect weather helps.
