I Can See Clearly Now……
Just got back from my umteenth trip to Anchorage to visit my Ophthalmologist. It has been kinda neat to watch the foliage turn. First there was the Fireweed in the aftermath of the Swan Lake fire.
Now the fall colors are ramping up. This is one of Tern Lake’s beaver lodges.

This was the last scheduled trip for the foreseeable future. Now I can get back to some sort of routine where the only travel is my weekly trips to visit with my Kenai vet buddies. It is turning out to be a vital link to whatever passes for sanity these days.
I still have a small group of friends here in Homer that serve as my anchor. They are also vital by keeping things in perspective when I have been watching too much news. Which is a daily thing, but this “reality show” (the ultimate misnomer) we call news is impossible to ignore. Digressing again.
What I wanted to say is that I have uncorrected 20/20 vision again. At least at distance, I’ll still need reading glasses but I don’t consider that anything but a mild inconvenience. I am amazed at the improvement this has made in my attitude. My outlook and expectations are downright rosey; it is hard to reign in. If any of you out there have been putting cataract surgery off, I’ve found it well worth it.
So I’m back to finishing up some of my projects. Hope you all are doing well and experiencing some perfect weather.
Glad the procedures worked. Eye surgeries, no matter how “minor” are scary. Take care.
