Discoveries
Good morning,
Haven’t been doing much except enjoying fall here. It has been just like summer, wet. All the crops and foliage are way behind schedule. We are just seeing the first hints of fall colors. I fear it might be like one fall I remember when we lived in Evergreen. It had been a long and wet summer along the front range and the aspens didn’t turn their usual dazzling array of yellow and red, the leaves just turned black and fell. The fall of the following year was completely normal.
The snow birds and the Sandhills are heading out later than usual; I’m guessing they heard that it is a bit hotter than usual this year south of the Canadian border. I’ve moved my tomatoes inside since the nightly lows have gotten below 50. Gonna need grow lights; you can see just the first ones turning red.
Stan and Valerie are still making their way down southeast and they shared these photos of an amazing cove with a treacherous entrance. You can just make out the Buffalo Nickel. That is some nice drone work, I really love hearing about their travels.
I would love to travel back in time to see such vistas as the glacier that carved this valley.
Earl discovered an impressive chunk of coal on the beach the other day.
He needn’t worry about it ending up in his Christmas stocking. I’m pretty sure I can’t lift it.
Hope you are all doing well.
Stay cool.
